Dear, I understand your pain, or at least the pain you will soon be in. At least you actually joined the gym (a step in the right direction), where as I have not worked up the motivation to do such a thing. Well, good luck dear, and as a side note to make you feel better answer this question:
- What notorious Confederate spy killed a Union soldier who had insulted her mother?
Jess, thank you for your encouragement, my dear. You do not need to join a gym; you have nothing to worry about. I, on the other hand...well, let's just say my corset will be very uncomfortable next re-enacting season if I don't lose a bit around my middle...
SFL, thank you for *your* encouragement. Indeed, I cannot say that you did not try to encourage me in my pursuit of fitness. However, your assumption that I am only there to scope out the boys is quite erroneous and, what's more, ridiculous. I shall not comment further. ;)
Oh, and by the way, Jess, I really don't know the answer to your trivia question...but I am going to guess...oh, let me see...it wouldn't be Rose Greenhow. Could it have been Belle Boyd? She was certainly notorious. Loreta Janeta Velazquez, perhaps? Hmmm. I think I'll stick with Belle Boyd...but I'm probably wrong. Enlighten me, my dear! :)
Oooh, that idea has definite possibilities, SFL. I will have to convince my father to rev up the tractors. But just keep in mind that if I die, you will no longer have my blog to amuse you.
I will have to do research on the "multiple corsets" question and get back to you. I do know that originally a corset was called "a pair of bodies [read: bodices]." So even in its original state it was considered a pair, not simply one item. Therefore perhaps "corset" is the term for multiple items pertaining to the idea of middle constriction!
Ay, caramba...my brain hurts. Lo siento. I can't think any more today. I've reached my limit.
