First snow!

Our first "real" snow of the season, the first that has stayed for more than a few hours, fell last night and this morning. Yay. I just paid $225 for two all-season tires, and though I did much more than my fair share of griping, I know I'm going to be glad to have them soon. After all, $225 isn't that bad considering my insurance is soon going to be over $250 a month. Yay again.

Enough moaning. I will have a good day. I WILL. ;)

Anyway, let me think about what else is new. Oh! My mama celebrated her 65th birthday on the 5th. It was a lovely party! Her three daughters, me included, bought her a Keurig coffeemaker, the kind with those little "pods" of coffee. She'd been looking at them for quite a while, and didn't want to spend the money. Heheheh. We are all having fun with it. I believe I have become addicted.

I made her a dark chocolate cake with buttercream icing and sprinkles. I would add that it was beautifully decorated, but that might be stretching the truth a little. However, I tried valiantly. You should have seen me trying to figure out how to put the sprinkles on the sides of the cake. It was quite amusing. I tried a spoon, a knife, my hands, and finally (sort of successfully) a flexible spatula. I ended up using an entire bottle of sprinkles; my mother had no complaint whatsoever about that. Then I found these awesome candles that light up with a flame the same colour as the wax. Fun!!

Well, that's all I've got for now. Will post again soon! :)
