"Real life"

I have come to the conclusion, after a weekend spent soul-searching, that our dear SFL is perfectly correct. I really do need to get my head out of the fictional world of the telly and into the happenings of present-day real life.

So, with that said, let me tell you about the search for our new house in South Australia. Yes, yes, I know I said Danny and I might be moving to WA, but we changed our minds.

First of all, it is so very far from everything we've known here in Victoria. All our friends are here, the people we know and love.

Then there is the cost of moving all our "stuff" all the way across the country -- extremely expensive.

And finally there is the lack of available real estate in WA. I am sure there are small stations or farmlets somewhere -- it *is* the biggest state in Oz -- but I have not found any suitable places in all my months of searching.

I've consulted every website I can find on the matter, and have been thoroughly convinced that there are no small stations with just enough hectares for a couple of horses and a fairly decent house to be had anywhere in WA for under 400,000 Australian dollars.

Oh, there were a few that kept popping up over and over again in my search, but they were not suitable even for our very modest tastes.

So we have begun searching for real estate in SA. It's much nearer to Victoria and therefore less expensive -- not to mention that the weather is quite agreeable on the coast (not in the desert though). And there are plenty of small farmlets/stations well within our price range, at least so far. I've only just begun searching.

Danny's been ringing some of his mates, the ones who travel back and forth between Vic and SA, to see if they know of anything about what's available in SA. Nothing much so far, but as I said, we've just started. I will defo keep you informed as things proceed...

Cheers! :)

AAAAHHHHH!!!!!!!!

Now Gibbs is quitting? And Tony's taking over? Not a good thing. And what will poor Abby do?! Poor girl. She looked like her world was falling down around her (which it probably was).

I have decided that I do not like season finales. First Sara Tancredi died of an OD (though I have heard gossip that she isn't really dead). Then Marisol Delko -- oh, very well, if you're going to force the issue, Marisol Delko Caine -- was shot and killed. I didn't like her, but that doesn't mean I wanted her to die! And now Leroy Jethro Gibbs is leaving NCIS??

WHAT IS THE WORLD COMING TO?!

LOL, kidding. It's only TV. But I will say that these season finales have been pretty crappy so far. If they decide to kill off Sawyer in the LOST season finale, I am going to be seriously ticked.

OK, I'm calm, I'm calm. I just said, it's only TV. Really, I can draw the line between entertainment and reality. I just read Ray Bradbury's Fahrenheit 451 for an Adolescent Literature project. Scary, LOL!

All right, I promise next time a blog that will deal with "real life." On my honour.

Off to search for Bibra Lake real estate...Danny and I may be moving to WA soon. He's tired of the station life and, frankly, so am I. We'd like to deal with horses rather than sheep. Ah well, more later.

I can't believe it!

I'm so mad!!! They killed off Sara Tancredi! How dare they?! Honestly, I don't even care about what happens to the rest of them anymore. Well, except for Michael and Sucre. And, I suppose, Linc, because he's the only innocent one. The rest of them can go wander in the wilderness for 40 years.

Bah! humbug! Boooooooooo!!!!!!! Hiss!!!!!!!

A very cool occurrence!

I just have to share...I was outside earlier today and I heard two phoebes singing to each other. One would whistle "phoebe!" and the other would respond, beginning on a note a musical third lower than the other bird. It was neat.

Then suddenly, just as if they'd planned it, they whistled at precisely the same moment -- in THIRDS! Perfectly timed, matched, and tuned THIRDS! It was So Incredibly Cool! Unbelievable! Wow, God is so amazing to create a moment like that for the enjoyment of his people.

Lord, you are incredible! Praise be to the Creator, the God of heaven and earth!
